Hi, I’m Abby Neilan
Abby Neilan has moved eight times since starting college, but she never moved out of her hometown of Lincoln—until now. It took getting a job as a Leasing Consultant with Bluestone for Abby and her energetic three-year-old Labradoodle, Oliver, to move to Omaha. She plans to spend the summer settling in and exploring our town.
Though she's not much for fictional stories, Abby is very into true crime and shows like 20/20. “News shows like that, those are kind of my guilty pleasure. Like weird, random, interesting docu-series or limited series.” She highly recommends a show called How to Fix a Drug Scandal on Netflix. (First episode synopsis: Drug lab chemist Sonja Farak's addictions are revealed, and a scandal erupts, raising questions for the thousands of defendants in her cases.) She also admits that the pandemic led her to watch some of the bizarre relationship reality shows that she never would have watched otherwise. (Same.) “You live with your boyfriend for two weeks, and then you live with somebody else's boyfriend. . . it was the weirdest concept, but it was very juicy.”
In the real reality, you could say Abby is a design person. “Clothes and house decor are my ‘things,’” she said, and she's delighted to shop in person again. “I'm so happy to be back in property management, being able to wear my fun business clothes. I don't do anything crazy or get into luxury or anything like that, I just enjoy putting outfits together.” And home decor has been a lifelong love. “I think when I was a kid I would rearrange my room about once a week. I used to get in trouble for that.” This passion for arranging and rearranging might explain why she doesn't even mind moving twice a year. “Every time I have a new home it's so inspiring to be able to make it my own and make it feel like me.”
In the recent past, Abby completed all of her real estate classes, and in the near future, she hopes to take the exam to become a fully licensed real estate agent. “It's been something I've always wanted to have. I guess real estate is my passion as well as my job right now.” It seems like she’s landed in the right place. Welcome to Omaha!
