Hi, I’m Heather Moore

Heather Moore is Bluestone’s new VP of Human Resources. She describes herself as midwestern born and raised, and she loves it here despite the weather. “I don't think you can find better people anywhere in the country, and I've lived in a bunch of different places.”

“After living in Texas for the past six years, one unexpected thing I really missed about the Midwest was the soft, sweet-smelling grass. In Texas, the grass is a little bit like walking on razor blades.” She has three grown children, but it was the birth of her first granddaughter that brought her back to Omaha from Austin. Specifically, “To spoil her rotten.”

A lot of Heather's time off is spent with her beloved camera. “I've never ever been out shooting and gotten tired of it. That's how you know something is a true passion, right? You never get tired of doing it.” Her favorite subjects are people, specifically portraits and street photography, “Catching people living their lives and capturing the essence of the moment to be remembered—sets my heart ablaze.”

Another of Heather's passions is family. With a big family spread across the US, she enjoys traveling to support nieces and nephews (and now grandkids) in their many sporting and artistic activities, just as she has been supported by aunts, uncles and grandparents throughout her life.

Any big plans coming up? “One of the things on my bucket list that I'd like to do this year is skydive. We'll see if I actually can conquer my fears and do it. And the other bucket list item that is planned for this year is I’m travelling to Hawaii for my middle son’s wedding. . . maybe I'll skydive in Hawaii.” We can’t wait to hear what song goes best with jumping out of an airplane. Maybe this one?

This is my desk.
